Excellence in GIS Award

IGIC is now accepting nominations for the 2013 GIS Awards!

Each year, IGIC honors outstanding projects through the Excellence in GIS Award. The Excellence in GIS Awards recognize organizations for their use of geospatial technology to improve our world.

Award-winning organizations are those who push the envelope through their innovative development of a unique GIS service or application, producing a new benefit stream for GIS users.

Their projects exemplify how GIS is being implemented, managed and expanded to improve services for Indiana’s citizens. They also show elected officials, agency heads and community leaders the importance of investing in GIS.

Projects must have been developed or completed during 2012.

Up to six awards will be presented in the categories below. The nomination deadline is March 30, 2013.

  1. Small Community (population under 50,000)
  2. Larger Community (population over 50,000)
  3. County
  4. Educational or Nonprofit
  5. State or Federal Agency
  6. Business or Commercial

Finalists will be chosen prior to the 2013 Indiana GIS Conference, where awards will be presented. Winners will receive two passes for additional guests to attend the ceremony.
