IGS-logoThe Indiana Geological Survey is seeking applications for a Developer/Database Administrator to join our Information Services team. The successful candidate will support, manage and operate the Enterprise Microsoft SQL Server by developing, deploying, and administering databases and database applications; perform database backup, restore and recovery, replication, review logs and apply upgrades and deploy database security for users, processes, and replications. The individual will work closely with scientific and support staff to evaluate their database needs and provide services and support.

The successful candidate will also support the Institute’s ESRI’s Spatial Data Engine (SDE) and ArcGIS Servers, and write custom applications for IndianaMap and other Indiana Geological Survey interactive maps (such as IGSMap) using ESRI services with the ArcGIS API for JavaScript and Esri ArcGIS Online templates. The ideal candidate should also have programming skills in the following languages/environments: SQL, ColdFusion, JavaScript, and be familiar with C# and JSON, and familiarity with Geographic Information System and SDE concepts are highly desirable.

The Indiana Geological Survey is a research institute of Indiana University and located on the campus in Bloomington, Indiana. The mission of the survey is to provide geologic information and counsel that contribute to the wise stewardship of the energy, mineral, and water resources of the state.
