The Indiana Geographic Information Council (IGIC) has launched an ArcGIS.com for Organization page for IndianaMap that makes over 260 layers and custom maps that are currently accessible from IndianaMap viewer http://maps.indiana.edu/ now available on ArcGIS.com.
IndianaMap layers and custom maps can now be accessed at http://indianamap.maps.arcgis.com.
ArcGIS.com allows you to view maps and apps over the web as well as create and share your own custom maps for your personal use or for use by your organization. The “Indiana Oil and Gas Well Map” below is just one example of how anyone can create and share an interactive web map using the IndianaMap data now available through ArcGIS.com.
The ability to create your own maps using ArcGIS.com is now included with any ArcGIS Desktop license, but this capability is also available for non-ArcGIS users over the Internet using ArcGIS.com. ArcGIS.com allows you to copy shared maps or create your own maps to build a collection of configurable maps and apps to meet your business needs and expand the use of geographic information across your organization and even with the public.
OPEN DATA PORTAL ALSO AVAILABLE: IGIC has now also made all of these IndianaMap layers available through Esri’s new ArcGIS.com Open Data Portal – http://data.indianamap.opendata.arcgis.com/
Through these initiatives, IGIC is increasing the value of IndianaMap data by making it more widely available and more useful to everyone.
