Join us on October 27 for the Indiana Government Geospatial Coordinator’s Forum. This annual event takes place from 9am to 3pm ET at the Pyramids in Indianapolis, IN (3500 DePauw Blvd). NEW LOCATION THIS YEAR! Breakfast and lunch are included thanks to our generous sponsors!

The forum provides a unique opportunity for knowledge sharing specifically designed for government geospatial professionals or individuals in other sectors who serve as the primary geospatial service provider for an Indiana government entity.

The Forum agenda is as follows:
  • Updates about data development projects and collaboration efforts in the state from the State Geographic Information Office and the Indiana Geographic Information Council.
  • Boundaries! Boundaries support a wide range of needs from E-911 response to property management to voting and much, much more. We will have a highly interactive discussion about how boundaries are developed, maintained and shared in Indiana. We will explore which boundaries are the highest priority to collect, how are they used and how accurate they need to be. If you use boundaries in your organization, you want to be part of this conversation!
  • During our lunch break, we will award the David C. Ford award, the highest recognition by IGIC, to two well-deserving individuals. This award is presented by the IGIC to an individual for exemplary service and dedication above and beyond duties for accomplishments in coordinating Indiana GIS through dissemination of data and data products, education and outreach, adoption of standards, building partnerships, and advancing the IndianaMap.
  • Following our lunch break we will separate into two groups. One will discuss issues of interest to county government and the other will focus on cities and towns. This is your opportunity to learn from and collaborate with your peers from across the state about opportunities and best practices you can apply in your community.

Health Considerations
While we currently are planning an in-person event, we care about the health and safety of the participants. Therefore, at a minimum, we will follow Indiana State Department of Health and Hamilton County Health Department guidelines. The measures will be in place depending on the color of Hamilton County on the County Metrics Advisory Level map found at
  • Blue: social distancing and masks optional
  • Yellow: social distancing and masks required
  • Orange: we will consider moving to virtual.
  • Red: Forum will be virtual

Additionally, we will take your temperature on arrival and color-code your badge to indicate your comfort level with social distancing.
