GIS Developer/Analyst - Hamilton County

  • Assists GIS Director in coordinating GIS activities.

  • Performs duties of GIS Director in his/her absence.

  • Assists in directing department GIS personnel, including interviewing applicants, making hiring recommendations, planning/delegating work assignments, and providing orientation, training and corrective instruction.

  • Performs administration of GIS, assisting with system design and security issues. Works with others in ISS Department in determining GIS related requirements.

  • Works with elected officials/department heads and GIS users in other departments, including discussing/defining department functions, data ownership, work flow requirements and GIS goals.

  •  

    Makes recommendations to accomplish goals and requirements, and to improve ease of use and efficiency. Designs, modifies/develops, integrates, and documents work flow involving GIS and other County computer systems.

Senior GIS Analyst - The Polis Center

The Senior GIS Analyst leads and executes a variety of projects that use geospatial data and technologies; provides advanced analysis of existing data and data structures; satisfies ad-hoc reporting/analysis requests. The Senior GIS Analyst fills a senior leadership position within the GeoInformatics Group at the Polis Center. This group focuses on the intersection between crisis informatics, including, but not limited to, natural disasters and environmental change, and geospatial analysis. First Deputy (Transitional), Howard County Surveyor

  • Investigate and resolve drainage problems
  • Oversee all drainage assessments
  • Understand and implement section corner perpetuation
  • Carry out duties as directed by the Howard County Surveyor.
  • Review submitted subdivisions/site/drainage plans.
  • Prepare surveys, drain profiles, and other necessary reports.
  • Help make determination of watersheds for tax purposes or assessments.
  • Maintain, update, and create the counties GIS layers pertaining to the Surveyor’s office.
  • Inspect and recommend acceptance of construction drawings and projects, related to drainage and erosion control. Review construction and erosion control plans. Review all drainage connections permits.
  • Review and propose updates to design standards, codes, and ordinances within the county.
  • Project Manager for all construction on the regulated drains. Site inspection, materials, billing, and payments to contractors.
  • Oversite of the section corners being re-established or perpetuated.
  • Addressing concerns from disgruntled landowners.
