GIS Specialist / Transportation Planner - Area Plan Commission of Tippecanoe County

The Area Plan Commission of Tippecanoe County (APCTC) is seeking to fill a vacant GIS Technician/Specialist position. Primary duties include creating, maintaining and managing street addressing and street centerline GIS data, assigning addresses to new development, correcting faulty addressing for existing development, assisting with management of other GIS databases and layers, designing and preparing maps and graphics, and managing the street re-naming process. Incumbent is also the ADA compliance liaison between the Metropolitan Planning Organization and local planning agencies, prepares ADA inventories and transition plans for smaller county jurisdictions, serves as transportation web administrator, prepares all Red Flag Investigations for long-range and federally funded road projects, and participates in special projects as assigned.

GIS Analyst - The Polis Center at IUPUI

The Polis Center is looking for a GIS Analyst to support our projects related to crisis informatics and environmental resiliency. The analyst will primarily work on our FEMA Risk MAP efforts. The analyst will mainly focus on data development, incorporating flood and related data into FEMA’s Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) spatial database. This requires a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of GIS, especially using Esri’s ArcGIS Desktop products. The analyst may assist in the Risk MAP Discovery process, which requires pulling together various datasets for a community and participating in meetings with community stakeholders. At times, the analyst may be involved in other projects in support of the Polis Center’s Geoinformatics team.

GIS Developer/Analyst - Hamilton County

  • Assists GIS Director in coordinating GIS activities.

  • Performs duties of GIS Director in his/her absence.

  • Assists in directing department GIS personnel, including interviewing applicants, making hiring recommendations, planning/delegating work assignments, and providing orientation, training and corrective instruction.

  • Performs administration of GIS, assisting with system design and security issues. Works with others in ISS Department in determining GIS related requirements.

Senior GIS Analyst - The Polis Center

The Senior GIS Analyst leads and executes a variety of projects that use geospatial data and technologies; provides advanced analysis of existing data and data structures; satisfies ad-hoc reporting/analysis requests. The Senior GIS Analyst fills a senior leadership position within the GeoInformatics Group at the Polis Center. This group focuses on the intersection between crisis informatics, including, but not limited to, natural disasters and environmental change, and geospatial analysis. The analyst performs a variety of functions, from data creation to analysis, mapping, automation, and reporting, as well as collaborating with academic and community experts, governmental officials, and citizens.
