In 2020, the Indiana Geographic Information Council surveyed GIS practitioners regarding their employment experiences.  During this free IGIC webinar Paul Turner-Smith and Kathy Lamb Kozenski, from IGIC's Education Committee, will talk about the background to the survey, present detailed findings from the subsequent report and discuss some of the implications for Indiana's GIS user community.  Join us as we explore how to 'live long and prosper' in GIS!

Presenters: Paul Turner-Smith and Kathy Lamb Kozenski

Paul Turner-Smith has chaired IGIC's Education Committee for several years, organizing IGIC's webinars, conference workshops and more. Paul also develops business opportunities for interactive story-mapping in forest projects and for earth observation analysis. Before moving to Indiana Paul worked in communications, program management, policy and governance in the UK government. During an eventful 12 years Paul tackled fuel poverty, disaster risk-reduction and the climate crisis, set up the UK's Green Investment Bank and had a leading role in the governance of European satellite infrastructure.

Kathy Lamb Kozenski is the Executive Director of Geography Educators' Network of Indiana (GENI). Kathy has been engaged in Education for almost thirty-five years, with over three decades in Geography Education and more than 20 years in IGIC's Education Committee.
